Dear Readers,
Welcome to the second edition of the SUSDEST-NET Project Newsletter, supported by the Interreg NEXT Black
Sea Basin Programme. This issue presents the latest achievements, milestones, and inspiring stories from our
shared journey towards building more sustainable, resilient, and attractive tourism destinations across
the Black Sea region.
In this issue, we introduce our partners from Bulgaria and Moldova — the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local
Authorities (UBBSLA) and the Chisinau City Hall. A major highlight is dedicated to the 2nd SUSDEST-NET Partners
Meeting, hosted by UBBSLA in Varna on 2–3 July 2026, bringing together partners to exchange experiences and
strengthen cooperation. The meeting included a study visit to Albena Resort, the Bulgarian pilot destination,
where participants explored its innovative practices in environmental management, resource efficiency, and
sustainable tourism development.
The newsletter also showcases progress in the project’s pilot destinations. In Chișinău, Moldova, the launch of
the Tourist Destination Management Committee (CMDTC) marked an important step towards modern tourism
governance, bringing together public authorities, businesses, and communities around a common vision for
sustainable development.
Discover also the inspiring pilot destinations of Üsküdar (Türkiye) and Chișinău (Moldova), together with local
stakeholder activities, including the Albena (Bulgaria) and Limanu (Romania) workshops, highlighting the
importance of collaboration in creating sustainable tourism solutions.
Enjoy reading and exploring our latest achievements!
