DEMFEST MOLDOVA 2026 took place in Chișinău on June 6, bringing together key actors from the public sector, civil society, academia, political organizations, youth groups, and international partners. Dedicated to promoting democratic dialogue, civic participation, and community involvement, the event provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and strengthening democratic values.
Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to attend panel discussions addressing the challenges and opportunities facing democracy in the Republic of Moldova, political pluralism, and the role of young people in shaping the country’s future. At the same time, the interactive “Democracy in Action” zone featured educational activities, debates, workshops, and civic engagement initiatives, demonstrating that democracy is built through active participation and open dialogue.
At the Chișinău City Hall stand, visitors were introduced to a range of municipal projects, including initiatives in the tourism sector such as People Powered Tourism under the #Susdest_Net and #Sustain_2 projects.
Events of this kind play a vital role in strengthening a democratic society. They help build bridges between citizens and decision-makers, encourage the exchange of ideas and perspectives, promote respect for diversity of opinions, and contribute to fostering a culture of dialogue and civic responsibility.
DEMFEST MOLDOVA 2026 once again demonstrated that democracy is not only about institutions and electoral processes, but also about the active involvement of every citizen in community life. Through dialogue, cooperation, and participation, we can work together to build a more open, inclusive, and prosperous future for the Republic of Moldova.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, organizations, and partners who contributed to the success of this festival and helped transform dialogue into a genuine instrument for positive change.
