The Albena resort complex hosted an international meeting for the SUSDEST-NET project — the Black Sea Network of Sustainable Tourism Destinations, funded by the INTERREG NEXT “Black Sea Basin” 2021–2027 programme. Representatives from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Moldova took part, discussing the future of sustainable tourism and exchanging best practices.
Albena is one of five pilot destinations in the project, alongside Kavala (Greece), Limanu (Romania), Chișinău (Moldova), and Üsküdar (Turkey). Over the next two and a half years, partners will work on developing shared standards and policies for sustainable development, supported by AI-based tools.
